Myself and Rob worked together on an internal renovation in Palm Beach. The job was a very complex stone fire place on a very tight timeframe. I was impressed on receiving the tender information at the amount of thought and care in the design as well as the amount of detail and clarity in the drawings
As a builder this makes our job easier saving on time and coordination with our trades and the architect. When we did need clarification on the design, Rob was on hand to guide us through and communicated his ideas effectively and clearly.
The clients were delighted with the final result which owed much to our working relationship with Rob, a great design and clear documentation from the outset.

It was very clear from our early discussions with Rob that he possessed great passion for creating social spaces. He was able to interpret our brief and clearly relay his design thoughts to us, making our vision a reality.

Rob was the lead designer for the conversion of four 3 storey terraces into 19 units and 5 commercial tenancies. The design was extremely efficient in maximising the space we had available whilst still being sympathetic to the heritage significance of the area.
Rob was extremely thorough during the whole process and seemed to exhaust all design possibilities in order to achieve the best result for us whilst ensuring that Council’s codes and statutory requirements were met.
Once approved, he also helped us put to together the relevant marketing material and visualisations required to take the development to auction. Rob’s input was invaluable and we found him easy to work with during all stages of the development. He is a good communicator and above all a great designer.
It was a real pleasure working with him.

Rob Burwell oversaw the renovation of our house over a 12 month period. The job was much more than a renovation as 80 per cent of the house was demolished and rebuilt and extended. Rob worked closely with the builder and while they collaborated well, he made sure almost nothing fell through the gaps.
He was incredibly diligent, patient and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the progress of construction. He also designed some of the interior joinery and made recommendations for some of the design elements.
We’d hire him again if we ever lost our minds and decided to do another renovation!

What was a dilapidated old bungalow is now a great home for my family. Rob’s creative use of space, ideas and willingness to get the best design possible was apparent from the beginning. Communicating his ideas through sketches and 3D models really helped us refine what we wanted which was initially a 3 bedroom 2 bath and open plan living/dining/kitchen.
Rob went beyond the brief we set for him and offered an option which provided us with an extra room for the kids to play in, in turn increasing the value of our home. During the build he was always on hand for advice and to answer any questions that I had about builders quotes and workmanship.
We would be more than happy to work with Rob again on another project! Next time we would ensure Blackline managed the contract between us and the builders as it was a job in itself. It would have definitely saved me a lot of time and money handing over to a professional.
For the moment we’re still enjoying our home!
