POTTS POINT APARTMENT RENOVATION  |  POTTS POINT | SYDNEY

Potts Point Apartment

A bold reimagining of a compact urban dwelling

This renovation of a one-bedroom unit in Potts Point aimed to redefine the space with a modern, open-plan design. A structural beam was introduced into the ceiling, allowing the removal of a dividing wall, which transformed the enclosed kitchen into a connected area with the lounge and dining spaces. The design showcases a bold color palette paired with refined black-and-steel fixtures, bringing the client’s vision of a unique and contemporary aesthetic to life.

Client Brief:

The client aimed to modernize the apartment by reconfiguring the impractical kitchen layout and embracing an open-plan design. Enhancing the bathroom's size and functionality while incorporating bold, expressive colors were central to the brief. Drawing inspiration from the exposed red sprinkler pipes and the client’s love of strong tones, the design emphasizes character and individuality.

The movable island bench was omitted in favor of an elegant dining table, improving spatial flow and usability.

Conceptual plans highlighted the evolution from the original layout to the open and modern configuration.

Bold kitchen cabinetry and the use of primary colors in the bathroom inject personality and energy into the refined design.
